Profiles
Bob M. Cheng
A Kajaks member since January 2002, Bob's specialty is the
100m and 200m, though he is attempting 400m on up to 1 mile.
History:
- Weekend jock since
childhood
- Sports Day
(Admiral Seymour School 400m champ as a 6th grader beating the 7th
graders)
- Little
League (1971 league champs)
- High
School Rugby (David Thompson, always had a losing record)
- Intramural
Flag Football (BCIT, bunch of business students trying to be
athletic)
- Adult
Recreational Touch Football (1999 Div 4 Fall champs, bunch of 39
year olds trying to be young)
- Ultimate (frisbee,
2001 fall league C level champs), joined because of mid-life crisis
(I'm still trying to be young)
- Accepting
the receding hairline, out with a bunch of great people, with the
Kajaks having fun
- Referred to as promising
young sprinter in 2002 (Thanks, George Agnew)
Gary Kuno (M40-44)
Gary Kuno attended Windermere High
High School in Vancouver where he competed in the sprints and the long
jump.
He joined the Kajaks Masters in the fall of
2001 and in his first competitive season (2002) turned in some excellent
results. He was the BC Champion in the 100m and 200m for his age class. At
the Canadian Masters Championships, he won a gold medal in the 400m
(55.28sec.), a silver medal in the 200m (24.54sec.) and a bronze medal in
the 100m (12.15sec.).
Gary is looking forward to the 2003 season
and will be travelling to Puerto Rico to compete in the World Masters
Championships in July.
