Microsoft is the GM of software. Americans buy Chevys because they feel it's their patriotic duty and because they can't afford good cars. If some group of enthusiasts started giving away free cars better than Chevys, GM would disappear; but Windows is still here when Linux is available for free. Why? Because Microsoft pitches its sell exclusively to ignorant CEOs, who then impose it on their minions. (2009-04-29)
