The other day Pat came across the videotape that Marj had made
(some years ago) from old 8mm movies that Willard took of me as
a child. There is a video store in Vancouver that will convert
VHS to DVD for a price; I plan to take it to them and change the
format again. Then Jed can burn copies for anyone who wants one.
Anyway, I suspect there are other examples of such videos around,
and/or the original 8mm films. It would be cool to merge them
all together -- I'm sure mine isn't enough to fill a DVD! So
maybe I should hold off on the conversion?

But here's a thought: none of these have Willard in them
(or very few, anyway), because he was usually the one taking
the movies! This is symbolic of the other side of Willard:
not just the Chairman of the Board or the man on the podium
at the awards ceremonies or on the front page of the newspaper,
but also the one you ''don't'' see, the '''Man Behind the Scenes'''
who made it all happen. I know I will never watch those movies
of me as a kid without thinking of the guy behind the camera.

Let me know if you have a VHS you'd like to merge with mine
and I'll try to get this to happen quickly.
